Consulting

Various ad-hoc consultations undertaken include:

  • Provided technical support to a government agency following an oil pollution incident from a subsea pipeline. Performed reviews of the operator’s proposed isolations to permit production start-up of other associated fields while preventing further leaks to sea.

  • Wrote a number of reports describing the issues encountered in a proposed expansion to an elderly and obsolete subsea control system. This was required to support front-end design and development studies, and understand risks and constraints. Subsequently this work led to the presentation of a paper at the client’s Global Subsea Conference and the publication of an article on control system obsolescence in the client’s E&P Engineering Newsletter.

  • Consultation to an investment fund on subsea equipment product selection, specification and purchase criteria.
