Stramach Ltd offers project management and engineering consultancy services to the oil and gas sector, primarily in the field of subsea operations support. We have extensive experience in working closely with both small and major operating companies.

Profile

Project management of a wide variety of activities including subsea intervention campaigns, pipeline inspection/pigging, subsea controls diagnostics, system surveillance, and integrity management.

Engineering support and operations input to brownfield and greenfield subsea projects, from FEED through detailed design, commissioning and first oil.

Full understanding of operators' commercial considerations, and the need to prioritise activities across assets and minimise production deferments, while optimising subsea inspection/repair solutions to maximise resource and vessel utilisation.

Operational support to mature assets. Management of Technical Authoriies (pipelines, diving). Interfacing with industry regulators.

Experience in the contrasting business challenges associated with oil prices ranging from $10 to $100 per barrel.

Murray Burnett

Stramach is headed by Operations Director Murray Burnett. Murray has over 25 years experience in oil & gas engineering, ranging from topsides production operations and maintenance through project FEED support to subsea inspection and repair.

Murray also has significant experience in dealing with industry regulators (HSE, BEIS, SOSREP) in the Diving, Pipelines and Marine disciplines.


  • Started Stramach in January 2012.

  • Subsea Operations Manager / Subsea Consultant in medium-sized consultancy for 4 years, running a multi-contract service and supporting a multi-discipline team in operational support to various clients including Dana Petroleum, Shell, Petro-Canada, Fairfield, PhPC and Total.

  • Subsea Maintenance Team Leader / Engineer at Shell UK for 6 years, responsible for identifying and planning the implementation of subsea inspection, maintenance and repair activities across the EP Europe business unit (132 subsea wells and 69 subsea structures).

  • Independent IT Consultant providing administration and IT support services on Linux & Windows platforms, Toronto, Canada.

  • Production Operations at Shell UK for 12 years (offshore based with ad-hoc onshore assignments), Instrument & Operations Technician through to Shift Supervisor.

  • Qualifications: BSc (Open University), IEng (IET), Diploma in Design & Innovation (Open University), NEBOSH General Certificate, SVQ Level 3 Processing Hydrocarbons, HNC Instrumentation & Process Control, ONC Multi-Discipline Engineering.
